Birmingham-based Vertik-Al, established in 1966, were the first company in the UK to successfully apply powder to aluminium; over the last 58 years they have continued to innovate and develop their range of services, which includes powder coating; polyamide rolling and protective tapes.
We were approached by the directors of the business to discuss reducing their energy costs and lowering CO2 emissions.
Having fully understood their requirements we proposed a 140kW combined heat and power system that would meet current and projected future energy needs; their system is generating significant savings and is helping the company to lower its CO2 emissions.
Commenting on the installation, Joe Anwyl, CEO at Levercor, said: “Companies like Vertik-Al, which use significant amounts of energy, are ideally placed to take advantage of our combined heat and power systems.
“With further increases in the cost of energy on the horizon, we can help companies to improve profitability by providing a secure, reliable source of low cost electricity — typically 10p per kWh — with the ‘waste’ thermal energy from the generation of electricity being used for heating and hot water.
“Our bespoke designed CHP systems can also help companies to reduce their CO2 emissions, along with significantly lower operating costs – a win-win solution.”
At Levercor Energy Systems we can usually get CHPs installed and commissioned within six months and the typical payback is 18 months.
